Something Good

Something Good
June 29, 2019
I am thankful to God to be born in a generation where there is the technology to do many things. I grew up right when the Personal Computers became popular and when the internet became global. Although I was born blind, there is the technology for me to access the computer with speech software. As far back as I can remember, I have been using computers but I cannot say that I am an expert.

Interestingly, the internet was down all morning on Monday. I needed to check my mail and had not yet learned how to do so on my phone. I use my phone for making phone calls but have not learned the different applications. I had a very long conversation with the technology specialist who tried to walk me through using my phone. In the end, I figured out how to use more features on my phone. This situation might appear simple, but I had a moment where I could have been annoyed and frustrated that the internet was down all morning for the first time that we have lived here, but I saw it as an opportunity that something good came from it. There is a Scripture I sometimes think about:

28 We know that in everything God works for the good of those who love him. (Romans 8:28)

Something good did come out of the internet being down all Monday morning and I am most thankful for God for showing me that He is working and involved in our lives even in what seems to be very simple situations.

Father in Heaven, thanks so much for the reminder, that You are always involved in our lives, even though sometimes we do not see or recognize that. Thanks for helping me learn and understand new things and thanks also that You shape my mind so I would complain less and think more of how You are at work and be thankful for the many ways that You show Your kindness to all of us.
