Making Life Choices

Making Life Choices
July 6, 2019

This is the first Saturday in July. The year has gone by fast. In less than two years I turn 40. Life has gone by so fast. I have recently been thinking of pursuing more education online. This would require finding the right program when there are so many options. Sometimes I look back on my life and wonder if I made the right decision to go to each college that I have gone to. What if I chose a different college, would I be in a different position today. When we take long to make a decision, sometimes we do not make any decision. I came upon this Scripture this week:

1People may make plans in their minds,
but only the Lord can make them come true.

2
You may believe you are doing right,
but the Lord will judge your reasons.

3
Depend on the Lord in whatever you do,
and your plans will succeed. (Proverbs 16:1-3)

I think about this passage and I look back upon my life and think of all the places God has led me. God said no to me going to certain colleges, and He opened the door for me to go to other ones. God has all wisdom and knows the best for my life. Had I not gone to Berkeley, I would not had met the friends that I did or had the experiences that I did. The key I see from this passage is to depend on God in the decision making process and our plans will succeed. I also need to check my motives in why I want to have more education. I want to gain more knowledge so I can help more people. I have not fully decided about which school, and I am going to devote some time for prayer to this.

Prayer:
Father in heaven, thanks for being involved in our lives and for caring about our lives. I thank You for all the people I have met in all the colleges that You have allowed me to go to. Right now, I am thinking of pursuing more education, but I am not sure when or what program. I want to more effectively help people and put myself in a better position to do so. Sometimes when we think more about the choices we begin to wonder if we are making a good choice. Please give me the wisdom to choose wisely, and to trust You with the result.
