Spiritual Indifference

Spiritual Indifference
August 3, 2019

This year has gone by fast and now it is the first Saturday in 2019. I started this year with seven goals and so far I have not accomplished any of them. I feel really discouraged in my faith right now and have not gone to church for two weeks now. I think I am at a place of spiritual indifference, which is not a good place to be. Jesus says this:

“The Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of all God has made, says this:  15 I know what you do, that you are not hot or cold. I wish that you were hot or cold!  16 But because you are lukewarm—neither hot, nor cold—I am ready to spit you out of my mouth. (Revelations 3:14-16)

Jesus says that being spiritually lukewarm makes Him want to throw up. That is a vivid image. I am not even sure how to get out of this spiritual state. I am in a place right now of being in a physical desert as well as a spiritual desert.

Father in Heaven, I am really having a difficult time. I feel spiritually dry and I am physically located in the desert. I do not know what to do about this situation. I feel like You are so far right now and I feel discouraged with my life. I really need Your help to have passion, have excitement, be filled with Your Spirit to be empowered to live life to its fullest and be impactful in ministry. Please show us how to thrive when we feel so spiritually dry.
