Why Worry

Why Worry
May 4, 2019

The weatherstrip on our car door has been very worn out but we only recently thought to replace it. We found a reasonable price off of Ebay and were thinking how hard could it possibly be. The job ended up being a bit more labor intensive then we had thought and it came time to have a professional do it. I thought to myself, surely labor is going to be costly and the dealer would charge even more than a family own autoshop. We took the car into a nearby autoshop and they charged much less than I had thought and the mechanic was very nice. There is a Scripture I have been thinking about:

25 “So I tell you, don’t worry about the food or drink you need to live, or about the clothes you need for your body. Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothes.  26 Look at the birds in the air. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, but your heavenly Father feeds them. And you know that you are worth much more than the birds.  27 You cannot add any time to your life by worrying about it. (Matthew 6:25-27)

I worry sometimes about things beyond my control, and Jesus is here reminding us that worry serves no benefit and we are reminded of how God takes care of the nature, and He will take care of us.

My birthday is in four days and I worry about many things that are outside of my control. I have a health situation for the last seven years that has not been resolved, I feel so disconnected in this desert area, and sometimes I feel fatigue from thinking about life. I honestly hope and pray that I will experience the goodness of God and breakthrough in the areas I have been praying for.

Reflection question:

What issue have you been worried about?

Father in Heaven, thanks so much for the reminder that You take care of us and we are reminded from nature that You take care of the birds. I have seen you come through for me in many ways but there are still major areas I have been praying about. My birthday is in four days and I hope and pray I will experience breakthrough in my health, spiritual life, finances, and emotional well being. I pray for all of us to experience more of Your goodness and kindness.
